Merlyn Update

I'm very happy in my forever home. Here's a new photo: Me and my friend Nutmeg sharing Dad's chair...

Happy Valentine's Day 2005

Merlyn's Adoption

I liked my foster family so much, I decided to adopt them. They have boys, a grammy, lots of other whippets, and lots of space for running. There's always someone home - and something happening.

Me - smiling with my squeaky lamb.

Here are some photos of me and my new family...

Me - lounging on the big bed.

Who could be lonely with this crowd?

By the way, I'm in the top right...the whippet on the left is my "twin" - his name is Tanner. The little brindle girl is Nutmeg. Chyna didn't want her picture taken...she's a bit of a snob. The white toy is a squeaky lamb - Mom got one for each of us. I really like squeaky toys - they're lots of fun to chew.

Best of all is leaning on mom!

When Merlyn Came to Whippet Rescue...

I am a six year old Whippet with a wonderful pedigree.
I come from a lot of Champions. I have some special needs, however.

I do not want to be alone...ever. When I am, I cry. Another dog just won't do - I need a person. It doesn't have to be my special person, just a person.

My first owner had to work at night and I couldn't stay at home alone. My adopted family had a major life change and couldn't take care of me anymore. Right now, I am in a foster home with other whippets and people who are home all day. That makes me happy - I even smiled.

I'm very good in the car. I have good house manners, too.

So, there it is: I am very nice, well-mannered, and very handsome. I am healthy, but I have a lot of anxiety about being alone. Please do not give me pills, I am not sick, I am just lonely. It's who I am.
